Support

How can I help?

Drachma is made by one person, so support is a real conversation: mkhakpaki.ksas@gmail.com. Common answers below.

Backups & moving phones

How do I move to a new phone?

Settings → Your data → Back up. Drachma writes one .drachma file, sealed with a passphrase you choose (minimum 8 characters). Move that file to the new phone however you prefer — cable, SD card, your own drive — then install Drachma and pick Restore during setup or in Settings. Restoring replaces what's on the phone with the backup's contents.

I forgot my backup passphrase.

There is genuinely no way around it — the file is encrypted with a key derived from that passphrase, and no copy of either exists anywhere else. That's the design that keeps strangers out of it; the cost is that it keeps everyone out, including me. If the original phone still has the data, make a fresh backup with a new passphrase.

Are receipt photos in the backup?

No — backups carry your numbers, categories, budgets, goals and progress. Receipt photos stay on the device they were captured on.

Getting data in

Which statement formats can I import?

PDF (including password-protected and scanned ones), CSV and XLSX. Parsing happens on your phone; nothing is uploaded. After parsing you review every entry before anything is saved, and Drachma flags likely duplicates of things you've already logged so nothing counts twice.

Receipt scanning tips

Flatten the receipt and let the scanner find the edges — recognition is fully on-device. Line items land in the entry, where you can fix names, quantities and categories; Drachma remembers your corrections and applies them next time.

Can I share a file straight into Drachma?

Yes — share a PDF, CSV, XLSX or a photo from any app and pick Drachma. It lands in the same review flow.

Budgets, goals & the coach

What's the buffer?

Your monthly plan minus what you've allocated to envelopes. It's the flexible slack of the month: cover an envelope that ran over, or sweep what's left into a goal at month-end.

Why did my streak say "healing" instead of resetting?

Because one missed day shouldn't erase two months of effort. Log again and the streak knits itself back together. Drachma never shames — that's a design rule, not a mood.

Notifications

When does Drachma ask for notification permission?

Only at the moment you first earn one — never at app start. Every notification type (daily nudge, weekly recap, budget pace, goal milestones) has its own switch in Settings, and quiet hours are respected.

Privacy & diagnostics

How do I turn off crash reports or usage stats?

Settings → Your data → switch off Share crash reports and/or Share usage data. It takes effect immediately. What these contain (and don't) is spelled out in the privacy policy.

How do I delete everything?

Uninstall the app. The encrypted database and its device-bound key are destroyed with it, and there is no server copy. Any backups or exports you created are files under your control — delete those wherever you put them.
