A keypad-first flow tuned until it's muscle memory: quick-add tiles for your usual spots, "buy again" pills that prefill everything, and a pattern nudge that logs your routine coffee in one tap.
Amount, category, done.
Split a monthly plan into envelopes and keep the rest as a flexible buffer. Run an envelope over? Cover it from the buffer in one tap. Amber means approaching, terracotta means over — never alarm red.
A coach, not a scold.
Rings, milestones, and an honest projected finish date — behind shows in honey, never red. Fund goals four ways: any-time top-ups, monthly earmarks, month-end buffer sweeps, and spare-change round-ups.

Point the camera at a receipt and get line items — OCR runs entirely on your phone. Drop in bank statements as PDF, CSV or XLSX, and Drachma matches duplicates so nothing counts twice.

How Drachma works

That's the first thing Drachma tells you when you open it — and the code keeps the promise. There is no sign-up, no bank connection, no sync service, and no company database with your spending in it.

Every expense, budget and goal lives in an encrypted database on your phone, with the key held in your device's secure hardware.
Nothing to sign up for, nothing to sync, nothing to leak. Backups are files you keep, sealed with a passphrase only you know.
Export everything as CSV or JSON any time, or uninstall and it's gone. No copy survives you.
Anonymous crash reports and screen-usage stats help fix bugs — never amounts, merchants or categories, and you can switch both off in Settings.
Questions
On purpose. Bank sync means a company holds your credentials and a server holds your transactions. Drachma is built for people burned by that trade — logging by hand takes about three seconds, and the act of typing it is what makes you notice it.
If you have a backlog, you don't have to type it all: import your bank's PDF, CSV or XLSX statement and Drachma parses it on your phone.
Create a backup in Settings — a single .drachma file sealed with AES-256 encryption and a passphrase you choose. Move it however you like (cable, drive, your own cloud), install Drachma on the new phone, and restore. Nothing passes through us, because there is no us-side server.
Your money data doesn't — there's no account and no server for it. Two optional diagnostics do, unless you turn them off in Settings: crash reports, and anonymous screen-usage stats limited to a fixed list of events like "entry logged with the keypad". Never amounts, merchants, categories or names. The privacy policy lists every event.
Drachma is free. A paid Plus tier may arrive later for extras — billed through your app store, with the same privacy promise: your budget data never leaves your device, Plus included.

The database is encrypted with a key stored in your device's secure hardware, so it's protected by your phone's lock. Backups are sealed with your own passphrase — without it, they can't be opened. Choose a passphrase you'll remember: there's no reset, because nobody but you holds a key.
